BuhoCleaner 1.17.0 — Mac version
Version 1.17.0 runs on anything from OS X 10.10 up, including M1 through M5 and Intel Macs. That is a wide net, which is why the same questions come up at the bike library before anyone downloads it.
Scrap leftover app crumbs, not just the icon
- Removing applications you no longer want, not just their icons but the leftover bits.
- Clearing system cache and temporary user files when a machine feels sluggish.
- Watching CPU load, temperature and fan speed in the menu bar.
A cleaner, not a drive doctor
- It is a cleaner, not a fixer. It will not repair a failing drive or sort out permission messes.
- Live stats are handy, but they are one more thing running in the background.
- No activation needed, which suits older Macs we loan out.
Quick moves you might not spot
Right-click the BuhoCleaner Menu icon and you get a tidy snapshot of what is eating memory right now. It saves opening the full window when all you want is a clue.
During an app uninstall, hold Command while clicking an app in the list to select several at once. The leftover scan runs for all of them in one pass, which beats doing them singly on a crowded Mac.
Dragging a folder onto the large-file scanner skips the default scan path and goes straight to that folder. Useful if you already know which directory has ballooned.
Kill launch-at-login so stats don’t hover all day
Open preferences straight after a buhocleaner download. Three things make a difference early.
- Turn off launch-at-login unless you genuinely want stats in the menu bar all day. The app starts fast enough when you need it.
- Set the menu bar display to CPU temperature or fan speed instead of the default. On a machine that runs warm, a quick glance tells you if the fans are actually keeping up.
- Tell the uninstaller to scan for leftovers automatically. The toggle is there but easy to miss. Without it, you have to remember to tick the box every time.
If you grabbed buhocleaner mac specifically for an older machine, also switch the menu bar refresh to a slower interval. Less polling, less drain, same useful numbers.
- Build 1.17.0, dated 2026-09-18.
- OS X 10.10 or later
- Intel or Apple Silicon Mac
- Languages: Russian, English, German, Spanish, Italian, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, Korean, Dutch, Portuguese, French, Japanese
