DockDoor Pro 1.3.5 — Mac version
DockDoor Pro is a native replacement for the standard macOS Dock that puts window previews and a few clever extras right where you expect them.
Peek at a hidden window by hovering its icon
Hover over any app icon and a thumbnail pops up. From there you can close, minimise, or quit the window directly — even snap it to a half or quarter of the screen without hunting through Mission Control.
Can I group several apps under one icon?
Yes. Drag related apps together and they collapse into a single stack. It keeps the Dock tidy when you jump between, say, a code editor, a terminal and a browser for one project.
What's the shelf area for?
The shelf is a temporary holding spot. Drop in a few images or a PDF you keep reaching for, and they sit there until you clear them out. There's also a built-in AirDrop zone so you can send files without opening a Finder window.
How does magnification feel different?
Aside from the smooth size increase, version 1.3.5 adds a new Bounce magnification style. It gives icons a playful little spring on hover — subtle enough to stay useful, lively enough to make the Dock feel less static.
A quick workflow: moving half-a-dozen images into a Pages document
Say you're laying out a community newsletter. You've got six photos in a folder and a blank Pages file open behind a busy browser. Hover over the Pages icon in the Dock — thumbnails appear for its open windows. Drag one image from the shelf straight onto the newsletter thumbnail. Pages springs forward, image placed. Repeat for the next five without ever opening the folder twice or shuffling windows manually.
First days with dockdoor pro mac
Spend your first session pinning three folders you touch daily. Right-click the Dock, choose to add a folder panel, and set it to grid view. It turns a stack of nested project directories into a visual launcher that disappears when you click away. Try the Bounce magnification style on day two — it's easy to overlook while you're still learning, but it makes missed clicks feel forgiving. And if a window thumbnail ever refuses to show, right-click the icon and pick Show All Windows. The thumbnails usually come back after that.
- New Bounce magnification style added for a springy icon effect on hover.
- AppleScript command now available to hide only the active window.
- macOS 13 Ventura or newer
- Apple Silicon or 64-bit Intel Mac
