Version 1.2.6.13974 landed on 8 May 2025, bringing the full Snowfall kingdom to Mac. It runs natively on Apple Silicon and older Intel machines, so your setup just needs to open the disk image and you're in. The throne room is where you spend most of your time—a line of petitioners snakes in, each with a problem that needs gold, supplies, or a straight refusal. You weigh their pleas against what you can actually spare, knowing a sent-away ally might not return. Between audiences, you check on your family. Your children grow, pick up traits, and sometimes create disasters of their own. Advisors hover with schemes. The map table lets you send agents with distinct skills and personalities to scout rumours or reinforce borders, but they might come back with a personal grudge or a romance that complicates your next council meeting. Everything you decide—who gets help, who gets ignored, what you build—ripples into the next season. The kingdom remembers.

Faster petitioners, less thumb-twiddling

The May 2025 build tightened up the throne-room flow. Petitioners now queue with fewer pauses between cases, so a full audience session feels more like a pressured morning than a lazy scroll. The agent map screen got a small but handy tweak: hovering over a region shows at a glance which agent traits match the job, cutting down the guesswork. Your children's dialogue trees gained extra branches in the mid-game, meaning their teenage choices feel less on-rails than in the launch build. Several localisation fixes landed too—the Polish and Simplified Chinese text no longer breaks in long decision descriptions, which used to shove key consequences off-screen on smaller MacBook displays.

Gatekeeper blocks the app on first launch

App won't open after dragging it to Applications. This is nearly always Gatekeeper blocking a non-notarised app. Head to System Settings > Privacy & Security, scroll down, and click Open Anyway. You only need to do this once.

Black screen on launch with audio playing. Some Intel Macs with older integrated graphics stumble here. Hold Option while launching and pick a lower resolution from the graphics dialogue—1280×720 works reliably. You can bump it back up in the in-game settings afterwards.

Agent portraits missing or swapped. A rare glitch tied to case-sensitive disk image handling. Eject the image fully, re-mount it, and copy the app again. Do not run it straight from the mounted volume; the game expects to read its resources from a proper Applications folder path.

47 gold, one hunter, and a daughter who wants a tutor

Imagine a player who loved the first game's desperate arithmetic but wanted more family weight—someone who micromanages the ledger yet softens when a daughter asks for a tutor. They load Snowfall mid-campaign. The treasury sits at 47 gold. A hunter petitions for supplies to track a beast troubling the northern villages; his request is modest, and he's helped before. Granting it costs 12 gold but secures a food surplus next season. Two petitioners later, a merchant demands funds to rebuild a burned warehouse—tempting for trade, but the price is steep. They send an agent instead, a sharp-eyed scout named Klava, hoping her persuasion skill closes the deal without draining the coffers. Klava succeeds but picks up a grudge against a local guild, locking out future merchant favours. Meanwhile, the eldest son sulks after a denied sword lesson, and the player spends ten minutes just watching the snowfall outside the keep window before the next petitioner arrives. That's the rhythm Snowfall builds: a spreadsheet-shaped heart wrapped in Slavic winter, asking you to care about the numbers and the names.
