Mafia III 1.0.0 — Mac version
If you've spent a Saturday coaxing a chopper into the air in a flight sim, you already know the patience of learning a machine's quirks. Mafia III wants that same attention on the streets. You are Lincoln Clay, just back from Vietnam, and the local 808 mafia has taken everything. The game hands you a city and trusts you to pull it apart your way.
New Bordeaux and a bayou-sized criminal empire

- A criminal empire to shape — pick which underboss gets the rewards and who gets a visit
- Three DLCs bundled in: Judge, Jury & Executioner, Family Kickback, and Faster Baby

A native Apple Silicon port, minus Intel support
The Mac version comes straight from Aspyr and is built for Apple Silicon. You'll need a decent chunk of free space and some RAM, but it's a clean port that feels right at home on a modern Mac. No Intel or NVIDIA graphics support here — this one's for the M-series chips.
Save files land in your Library, so Time Machine grabs them
Mafia III doesn't hide itself away. The save files live in your home ~/Library folder, which means they slide into your usual Time Machine backups without any fiddling. If you use iCloud Drive, you can drag the save folder to the cloud and pick up where you left off on another Apple Silicon Mac — handy if you've got a desktop for long sessions and a laptop for the odd stakeout mission.
Mission Control handles the full-screen mode properly. Swipe back to the desktop to check a walkthrough, then swipe straight back in without the game throwing a fit. The music player stays out of your way too — the in-game radio cuts when you pause, so you can leave your own playlist running from the Music app and the two don't trip over each other.
Controller support is broad. An Xbox or PlayStation pad connects over Bluetooth and the game picks it up without extra drivers. If you're on a desktop Mac with a wired Logitech pad, that works as well. The only thing that doesn't fly is keyboard remapping — the layout's fixed, so you learn where the devs put crouch or you don't.
A session with Lincoln
Take a player who spends their evenings dipping into open-world games between shifts at a warehouse. They've got a base M1 Mac mini and an old DualShock 4. They're not hunting a mafia 3 torrent or some cracked download — they've got the Aspyr build, it runs steady, and they're working through the story one district at a time.
Tonight they're clearing a racket in Tickfaw Harbor. They park a beat-up sedan two blocks out, climb a fire escape, and mark every guard with the camera before sliding down a ladder for a silent takedown on the one patrolling the dock. One slips away — suddenly it's a firefight, and they're ducking behind crates with a shotgun they looted earlier. The frame rate holds. The controller rumble tells them they're taking hits. They finish the job, call in Cassandra's crew to run the district, and save before bed. The whole session took forty minutes and felt like a film they directed themselves.
Apple Silicon stability in marathon play sessions
The 1.0.0 [MAS] Fix build is a quiet update. Aspyr didn't add features or rewrite the renderer — they tightened up what was already there. On Apple Silicon Macs, the most noticeable change is stability during long sessions. Earlier builds could stutter after a couple of hours when the game chewed through RAM. The fix keeps memory use in check, so you can spend an afternoon chasing down a mafia mac torrent of trouble across the bayou without a restart.
Controller recognition got a nudge too. Where some pads used to drop out after sleep, the fix holds the connection more reliably. Loading times between districts trimmed down by a few seconds — not dramatic, but enough that you stop noticing the wait. If you ever poked around looking for a download mafia 3 torrent that actually runs on M-series hardware, this build is the one that works smoothly.
- macOS 10.12.4 or later
- Apple Silicon chip
- At least 8 GB RAM
- 50 GB available storage
- Intel and NVIDIA graphics cards are not supported
